Live from New York, it's Betty White!
So the word is out–Betty White is going to be on Saturday Night Live. Apparently half a million Facebook fans can't be wrong. The campaign to get Betty on SNL was fast and furious..and grew to epic proportions after she appeared on that Snickers ad during the Super Bowl. When she was first asked about the [...]

More Strength Training...
Strength training is starting to come along.  Still not my favorite activity- but I have figured out that there are two reasons for this... 1) Too long before I see results.  I'm in my 3rd week and I don't look ripped, I know that's not a reasonable expectation, but 3 weeks into running, I could actually run [...]

Murder She Played?
There's a new video game set to the television show Murder, She Wrote with Angela Lansbury.  Do you remember that show?  I never ever watched a single episode.  I think it was on Sunday evenings on CBS.  Now it's a video game.Seriously?Have they run out of ideas?  Are senior citizens playing this game?  You know [...]

Love the Oscars but...
It's time to make the Oscars shorter.  I'm sure the folks at ABC are very happy with the 3 and a half hour show because they can sell lots of commercials, but I'd love if the show was about 2 hours.I don't really care who won for best sounding editing AND sound mixing.  Same goes [...]

This is the time of year people put together their top ten lists. Since it’s also the end of a decade, the lists have been expanded. Rolling Stone lists the top 100 albums of the decade and the top 100 songs of the decade.

So I started making my lists and realized that there are just too many songs and albums that I loved over the years to narrow it down to ten. Since I started working at Triple M in 2002, for me, that’s when the musical decade began, so, in no particular order, here are some of the artists I fell in love with at FIRST listen over the last 7 years.

Los Lonely Boys, Will Hoge, John Butler Trio, Gnarls Barkley, Amy Winehouse, Ray Lamontagne,  Vampire Weekend, Mika, Jet, KT Tunstall,  Umphrey’s McGee, Stephen Kellog and the 6ers, Duffy, James Hunter, Altered Five, Run Side Down, OK Go, The Killers, Donavon Frankenreiter, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, DeSol, Ryan Shaw, Regina Spektor, Eric Hutchinson, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Jackie Greene.

I’m sure I left some out but these are the one’s I can think of right now. . What were your favorites?

Next time,  some of my most memorable concerts.

  1. Great List – I would agree with MANY of those. Triple M Session with Donavon Frankenriter = one of the best intimate performances I’ve even attended! Thanks Triple M!!!!
