The Broken Bells
What has producer/artist Danger Mouse been up to lately? He's been recording under his real name Brian Burton with James Mercer, lead singer/ guitarist for the Shins. Meet The Broken Bells. The pair met at at a music festival back in 2004 and discovered they were fans of  one another's work. This lead to secret [...]

Survivor: Heroes VS Villians
YAY! It's Survivor Season again. This one looks like it's going to be awesome, with the Heroes VS Villains theme.   They did something similar several seasons ago with the Fans VS Favorites, but this time I think it's going to get even more aggressive, since ALL of these players have seen each other's seasons and think they [...]

Sheryl Cougar
I'm sure she'll enjoy every minute of it...Sheryl Crow is headed to the small screen.  She's set to join her friend Courtney Cox Arquette's show, Cougar Town on ABC.  Not much else is known, other than it'll be a multiple episode arc and she will not be playing herself.  Seems she'll be the new [...]

Behind the scenes with Brett
What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial? I loved the Snickers ad with Betty White and Abe Vigoda (and so did everybody else.) But I really got a big charge out of the Hyundai ad featuring good old Brett Favre. I'm just afraid the joke may be on us in ten years when the commercial [...]

Mike and I headed up to Wisconsin Dells this weekend for Autumn Harvest Fest, which includes a great beer tasting festival called Dells on Tap. As usual, we enjoyed tasting all the different Wisconsin beer varieties…and also enjoyed live music provided by the band Swing Crew..and during that band’s breaks a country-rock band called Main Street Wisdom performed.

Look at that!  The lead singer is none other than Carleen Wild from NBC-15 here in Madison…and she’s really good!  She and the band definitely looked like they were having a good time.  I only caught a few songs–covers of Sheryl Crow and the Dixie Chicks…and a rockabilly band called the Cigar Store Indians.  But what I heard sounded great.

Okay..this picture is kinda fuzzy..but remember–I was at a beer tasting event. Recognize the guy on acoustic guitar? That’s Dan Smith, who’s no stranger to the TV news room himself.

More info on Carleen’s band here.
